Gary Radz, DDS  Show/Hide Bio...

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to do the following:

  1. Understand the restorative options available using indirect composite resins.
  2. Have an appreciation for the differences between porcelain and indirect composite resin.
  3. Understand the use of indirect composite resins as an esthetic alternative to porcelain for elective restorations;
  4. Understand the beneficial physical properties of indirect composite resin systems.
  5. Appreciate how laboratory processing of composite resins can positively affect the physical properties of the material.
  6. Understand the laboratory process involved with the fabrication of Cristobal + indirect composite resin.
  7. Describe the preparation technique for indirect composite resin veneers.
  8. Describe a temporization technique for composite resin veneers.

Abstract:

Advances and improvements in composite resin technology have made it possible to use indirect composite resins for anterior veneers. These indirect composite veneers offer the advantages of being non-abrasive to opposing dentition, require only minimal preparation and are easy for the laboratory technician to fabricate into beautiful restorations. Due to more complete polymerization, indirect composites now provide wear and stain resistance in more durable cosmetic dental enhancements. A descriptive, illustrated case study is presented in detail in this course.
