Guy D. Foulkes
Dr. Guy Foulkes, is a native of Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He graduated on the Dean’s List from Georgia Southern College in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He received a Doctorate in Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in 1989 and was elected Alpha Omega Alpha in 1991. He became a certified member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1997. Dr. Foulkes has received many honors, including the Joe Sam Robinson, Sr., M.D. Surgery Award. Dr. Foulkes has served with the Army since 1986. He has served as a Ship's Surgeon, Second Lieutenant, Captain General Medical Officer, Captain of Field and Battalion Surgeon, Surgical and Orthopedic Consultant during training for Operation Desert Storm, Major of Orthopedic Surgery, Commander, and still acting as Brigade Surgeon for the 45th Infantry Brigade for the Georgia Army National Guard. Dr. Foulkes has received numerous medals from the Army including: Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Georgia Special Operations Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal, Georgia Recruiting Medal, Georgia Service Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, and Expert Field Medical Badge. Dr. Foulkes is now acting as Clinical Assistant Professor in Surgery at Mercer University School of Medicine, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Surgery at Mercer University School of Medicine, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Engineering at Mercer University School of Engineering, Attending Medical Staff on Macon Orthopedic and Hand Center of the Medical Center of Central Georgia, HCA-Coliseum Medical Center, Macon Northside Hospital and Middle Georgia Hospital. Dr. Foulkes has lectured extensively in Georgia, Hawaii, Florida, Colorado and Los Angeles. He is the author of over 21 professional publications and has provided illustration for For Your Handformation magazine.
