This course discusses in detail the importance of determining and creating ideal occlusal vertical dimension for individual patients.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to do the following:

1. Recognize how a deficient facial vertical dimension negatively impacts facial beauty.
2. Determine a patient's optimal facial height.
3. Explain the importance of repose in facial analysis.
4. Correlate facial features and occlusal plane position.
5. Plan treatment that will optimize occlusal function, smile esthetics, and overall facial beauty.
