Dr. Gregory D. Naylor is a native of western Massachusetts. He graduated with honors from Springfield College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1978 and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. After graduation from dental school, he received a commission in the United States Navy and has served in the Navy for over 27 years. His assignments in the Navy have taken him around the world including North Carolina, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington, Japan, California, and Connecticut. In 1985, Dr. Naylor was selected for advanced training in the discipline of Oral Medicine and received his certificate in Oral Medicine in 1987 from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1988, Dr. Naylor became Board Certified in Oral Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine. From 1992 through 1995, Dr. Naylor was on the staff of the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. He also served as Chairman, Educational Resources Department at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School. He held appointments as an Associate Professor at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School and the George Washington University School of Medicine. Currently, he is a Dental Consultant for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
Dr. Naylor has lectured extensively on both coasts of the United States and in Asia. He is a member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the American Association of Stomatologists. He is the author of over 26 professional publications and was Guest Editor of the Ear, Nose and Throat Journal in October, 1989. His areas of interest include clinical pharmacology, the management of medically complex patients, and the differential diagnosis of hard and soft tissue lesions of the oral cavity. Interests outside the realm of dentistry include golfing, running, traveling, reading, and the Internet.
