Dr. Maurice C. Corbett is a fifth generation Californian. He graduated with honors from the College of Sequoias in 1955. He received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of California School of Dentistry in 1959 with special honors for his work in dentistry for children. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962. His assignments took him to Japan where he was Head of Dependant Services.
He entered private practice as a pedodontist in San Jose, California in 1962. He served on the pedodontic faculty at the University of California Dental School from 1963 to 1970. In 1971, he was accepted into the graduate orthodontic program at the University of California Dental School and matriculated in 1973.
He co-founded the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education in 1974. He is now in private orthodontic practice in Carmel Valley, California. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pedodontics, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and numerous other professional and civic organizations.
Dr. Corbett has lectured throughout the United States and 31 foreign countries and published in multiple professional journals and newsletters. He served as a consultant to the Army-Navy Orthodontic Training Program. His special interest is in growth and development with an emphasis on diagnosis and treatment planning. His outside interests are his family, golfing, traveling, reading, and the Internet.
