ADA CONTINUING EDUCATION ONLINE
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
ADA CE Online provides web-based access to ADA CERP recognized continuing dental education courses through a comprehensive library of online CE courses, self learning course evaluations, automated grading, and secure credit card payment. In order to provide this service to you, ADA CE Online collects personal identifying information and tracks all site usage.
ADA CE Online collects certain information from and about its users in three ways: directly from the user, from our Web server logs and with cookies.
Personal information provided by users:
When you register for an online CE course on ADA CE Online, you are required to provide the following information during registration:
- Valid E-mail address: All communications will be sent to the e-mail address you specify. This includes credit card problem notifications, completion notices, and your e-Verification.
- Professional & Licensure Information: If you are a dentist, dental specialist, hygienist, dental assistant, or laboratory technician, your license number and other license information, such as expiration date and state of issue is required by the accreditation organization in order to give you credits.
- Contact Information: A mailing address and telephone number.
- Credit card information: In order to register for a course, you must provide valid credit card information for billing purposes, including the card number, expiration date and billing address. This information may also be forwarded to your credit card provider.
In addition, when you purchase and complete a course with ADA CE Online, one copy of the e-Verification gets e-mailed to you.
Web Server Logs:
The information we collect via our Web site is used to improve the content of adaceonline.org.
We collect the domain name and internet protocol (IP) address of visitors to our Web site, aggregate information on what pages users access or visit, user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, and information provided by users when they register for online courses. We also may collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail.
Our cookies do not contain any personal identifying information, but they do enable us to provide a better browsing experience during your visits. ADA CE Online requires that you accept cookies when taking a course, but it is not required when reading the course library and course descriptions.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
ADA CE Online uses technical security measures to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control. We use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site. When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial or health information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors through a pop-up screen on our site. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. When users choose to make payments via credit cards, we submit the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouses. We do not store or reuse this credit card information, unless you have given your authorization for us to do so.

ADA and/or ProBusiness Online, Inc. may use your personal identifying contact information to alert you to new information, products and services, events and other opportunities offered by ADA CE Online, ADA and/or ProBusiness Online, Inc., or our affiliated or subsidiary companies, or our business partners. From time to time, we may also share your personal identifying contact information with our affiliated or subsidiary companies, or our business partners, so that they may alert you directly to new information, products and services, events and other opportunities offered by them that would be of special interest to you.
The information we collect via ADA CE Online is used internally by ADA and ProBusiness Online, Inc. to administer the ADA CE Online program and to enhance your overall browsing experience, including using the information we collect to improve the design and content of adaceonline.org.
ADA CE Online logs IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet. ADA CE Online may also gather anonymous information that may be used by ADA CE Online or ADA or shared with third parties. This information does not personally identify you, but may be helpful in improving the services offered. Generally this information is collected through "traffic data" and may entail the use of "cookies," "IP addresses," or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.
ADA CE Online may, in its sole discretion, perform statistical analysis of the collective characteristics and behavior of users to measure interests in the various areas of ADA CE Online (for product development and other business development purposes). However, these statistics do not include personal identifying information.
ADA CE Online may release personal information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with the law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements or, (iii) protect the rights, property or safety of ADA CE Online, our users, or others. ADA CE Online also releases personal information to the requisite dental accreditation organization(s).
HOW TO UPDATE OR CHANGE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
